THE IDENTITY WEAPON

Hey there, It's me back to the game after more than a year. A lot has changed. So did I. The thing that has sparked interest in me to get back to writing today is the political similarity of different geopolitical grounds at so many levels. This is not some new theory of mine that I propose. its just a world view of the juncture that we're at and I'm not blaming anyone for doing it. And yes its not about AI.    The word identity politics has been around since the last decade in India, thanks to Prashant Kishore. Today, the world, politically is at a crux where there are best of many sides playing against each other. But one remained emerging victorious. There is a pattern established to emerge as the winner. That is the game of identity politics.   People identify themselves with many things. from religion, caste, Sex, occupation, region, the language they speak, some people also say that they are an Indian first in an attempt to put the nation first. When I ...

Ram - The Ideal Human

Hello, here I come again after more than a month. But, this time I looked back into those days when I read the book called SITA beautifully illustrated the Ramayana. Before you go away, this is not a book review. Another misconception I want to clear is that Ram or Rama is not a symbol of Hinduism. Ram is just a human with good human qualities. Infact, Hinduism is such a diverse religion you don't have to follow just one deity. It's an entirely complex topic which I will save for later.

I called Ram, the ideal human because he tackled all the problems he faced without any panic. Speaking of problems, Ram had the worst possible life anyone could even imagine to face. I'm not exaggerating, his story tells it. He faced betrayal from his step mother who took care of him like her own child till the day before. Left his kingdom on his father's word. Went to Vanavas for 14 years, that's almost spending one and a half decade in forests. All of this because his respect towards his father Dasaratha. Even Dasaratha Maharaj, did not want Rama to leave his kingdom. But, situations made him leave his father and kingdom and spend 14 years in forests along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana. Dasarada Maharaj missed his eldest son and passed away while Ram was in exile. Even though, he didn't return to his kingdom atleast for the last rites because he valued his word. Ram's principle has always been, "praan jaaye par

vachan Na jaaye" which means I will spare my life to fulfill my word. While he was in the exile, he used the opportunity to learn from the Rishis and the Sadhus. Then, one fine day, his wife gets kidnapped by the king of demons. That's just half of the problems he faced. If I mention more it will get boring to me too.

It's not that he faced so many problems so he must get some sympathy. That will be so dumb. What matters the most is the way he faced every problem without any anger and distress that all bad has happened to him. He built a bridge completely made out of rock on a sea to Sri Lanka with the help of vanaras ( Vanaras aren't  monkeys. They are the people who live in forests ). Seems impossible to go against the modern day's laws of buoyancy. Anyways, Ram fought against the king of demons with an army of forest dwelling people. Another feat completely impossible. Sita was accused of something very atrocious because she spent one year in Ravana's kingdom. For that she had to leave Ayodhya and spend her life in forest. That is too much but yeah, it happened.

Mahatma Gandhi, wanted India to be a Ram Rajy. Ram Rajy dosent mean a nation filled with Hindus. It means a place where the king is so pure that the nature is completely aligned to the calender and gives rains when it is needed. A nation filled with prosperity and wellbeing. Many politicians during the elections mention about Ram Rajy. But when they win, we know what happens in summers and monsoons. I don't even need to mention about poverty.

Ram did everything with utmost determination and complete respect to everything including a squirrel. If you thik "this is all fake. Who even thinks that all this happened". My message for you is 'if you believe in a fantasy fairy tale of the west, this is a completely Indian epic folklore'. Ramayana has everything from grudge and greed to love and affection.

Here is a list of few changes I found after reading Ramayana:
 1. Patience: I used to be a lot short tempered in 8th grade but when I read it in the summer vacation, I just found a drastic change in myself.
 2. Determination: I feel like I still lack it but I've observed a huge difference in this aspect after reading Ramayana.

There is much more I learnt from Ramayana but I don't want to mention them here. Ramayana is a great epic. Reading it atleast once will make you only a better human. You will be investing your time in making yourself a better human.

Anyways, that's it for now. I'm so sorry to write after one and a half month. But, I've really been thinking about content to write. Which other topic you want 'A Different Perspective' on, please let me know in the comment box below. #punintended See you in a week or two. Adios.
